"South" County (Montecito, Summerland and Carpinteria) is a hike for us but we have made a few park treks down and intend to more. There are the playground parks:
Manning (Montecito),
Westmont Park (Montecito),
Lookout (Summerland),
Toro Canyon (Carpinteria) and
Tomol Interactive Park (Carpinteria). There are also open spaces:

Hale Park is an open unchanged area popular with dogwalkers in Montecito at the corner of Eucalyptus Hill Road and Eucalyptus Hill Drive.

Oceanview Park has open green space and trails with a few picnic
tables and benches. It is located off the Padaro Lane exit on
Greenwell Ave via Via Real.
